The Guará 4WS 4X4 vehicle for police operations, entirely designed by Avibras, stood out as one of the highlights at LAAD Security (Public and Corporate Security International Exhibition), which took place between April 12th and 14th at Riocentro – Exhibition & Convention Center, in Rio de Janeiro.

Avibras officially presented the vehicle prototype, which holds all the technology applied in its successful projects for military employment. As a result, Avibras developted a vehicle with excellent level of ballistic protection and quick increase and decrease of protection due to the modular concept applied in the project. The great agility and extreme mobility with four-wheel drive 4x4 and four wheel steering are the vehicle special features, which are fundamental for off-road and urban operation.

Delegations from several countries, authorities, experts, press and actors of the Security sector visited Avibras booth, located at the main entrance of the event. The imposing presence of the vehicle, as well as its capacity and quality, dazzled the visitors.

“Due to the public receptivity to the product, we believe that Guará will be a successful product”, highlighted the Avibras Business Development Manager Marcos Agmar.

LAAD Security gathers national and international companies which supply technology, equipment, and services for Public Security, Police Forces, Special Forces, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security and security managers from major companies, service and infrastructure concessions from Brazil and Latin America.

This is the first time Avibras takes part in this event and believes this moment as ideal to apply its experience of more than 50 years in the Defense market into the Security sector. Avibras objective is spread its activities in order to fill market niches, currently served by other suppliers, with latest technology developed and produced in Brazil.

Besides the Guará vehicle, Avibras also presented at LAAD Security its concepts for Command and Control (C2) applied in police vehicles, as well as technologies related to the policeman digitalization for tactical actions.

Guará vehicle – Taking five crewmembers properly equipped, the vehicle main purpose is the tactical employment for security forces special operations in urban areas: fighting organized crime and security vans and bank robbery, as well as the combat to drug trafficking. This versatile multi-task vehicle may be also employed in rural areas against armed conflicts. It is also available in a personal transport version, with capacity for 10 crewmen, and another version for Enviromental Police and Civil Defense application.
