Avibras Unidade de Catalogacao

It was published this month in the Diário Oficial da União a regulation that authorizes Avibras to continue acting as a Cataloguing Unit for another two years.

The recertification as a leading UniCat in the Brazilian Defence Industrial Base (BID) is the result of an assessment carried out in November last year by the Defence Logistics Systems Support Centre (CASLODE), an agency of the Ministry of Defence.

At the time, the military delegation observed on site Avibras' excellence in providing this service (photo), with emphasis on the cataloguing processes, which are organised and structured, making Avibras a benchmark in this segment in Brazil and worldwide.

Avibras is the first private industry in Brazil to have the right to act as a UniCat with the Ministry of Defence, reinforcing its pioneering spirit and expertise in this area. UniCats are entities authorized to provide cataloguing services for supply items used by or of interest to the Armed Forces.

The company has been carrying out and selling the service since 2016. Cataloguing consists of collecting technical data to establish the identification of items and their ordering in the form of a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) catalogue, providing international visibility for products and prominence in the export scenario, as well as economic and operational benefits in the logistics area.
